Dojo Information


Location and Directions:

We are located in the village of Florence, just northwest of Northampton, Massachusetts. Head west on Rt. 9 from the center of Northampton, past Cooley-Dickenson Hospital, to the center of Florence. Turn right at the second light onto North Maple St. The dojo is on the second floor in a large brick building on your left just before the bike path (30 N. Maple).


Schedule:

Monday         Open Practice, 5:15pm--6:00pm
                      Regular Class, 6:00pm--7:15pm

Wednesday   Open Practice, 5:15pm--6:00pm
                       Regular Class, 6:00pm--7:15pm

Friday             Open Practice, 5:15pm--6:00pm
                       Regular Class, 6:00pm--7:15pm

Saturday        Regular Class, 9:00am--10:15am
                       Zazen Meditation, 10:15am--10:45am


New Students and Visitors:

If you are new to Aikido, please come watch a class before participating. After observing, you are welcome to try one class free of charge before becoming a dojo member. Please come at least 10 minutes early to your first class to sign a waiver and introduce yourself to the instructor and other students.  Beginners receive individual attention from instructors for several classes to learn the basics of Aikido movement and falling (ukemi).

If you have practiced Aikido at another dojo and are interested in joining Aikido of Northampton, you are welcome to try a class free of charge.

Visitors from other dojos are always welcome.  There is a $10 mat fee per class.




Dues:

Adult            $70 per month
Student        $55 per month
Family           $90 per month for a couple; $10 per month per additional family member

Monthly dues cover an unlimited number of classes and are paid at the beginning of each month.
